Nikolai Petrov ( 1943 - 2011 ) was born in Moscow, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Yakov Zak. He performed well at the Van Cliburn and Queen Elisabeth Competitions which gave his name prominence. His recordings include works by Bach, Liszt and Rachmaninov.
