Sergey Dorensky ( 1931 - 2002 ) was born in Moscow, Russia. He studied at the Moscow conservatory under renowned pianist Grigory Ginsburg. He would become a professor there and help shape the career of pianists such as Nikolai Lugansky and Denis Matsuev. His recordings include works by Chopin, Schumann and Beethoven.
