Lélia Gousseau ( 1909 - 1997 ) was born in Paris, France. She studied at the Paris Conservatory and championed the music French composers Roussel, Chausson and Dukas. She eventually taught at the Paris Conservatory and her pupils include Pascal Devoyon.
