Nelson Freire ( 1944 - 2021 ) was born in Boa Esperanca, Brazil. He began recording for Columbia and under the label he recorded works by Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Liszt. He performed regularly with fellow friend and renowned pianist Martha Argerich.
